Day 2 - 3.30pm

Cruel but a necessity - Michael's just had his first round of physio. The new pain killers did do their job but he was starting to feel in pain again when the physio arrived. He didn't turn him away but just got on with it. To the point that we had to tell him to wait - he was raring to go but all his wires had to be put in a position so he didn't get tangled up!! I think it was more that he knew he had to do it and just wanted to get it over with. He did a great job moving to sit on the side of the bed - it really was hard work. A couple of minutes sitting there - which, for Michael was a couple of mins too long. Then back to lying down and trying to get into a comfy position. He really did amazingly - movement is so so important.

Unfortunately 2 mins later a dr appeared to tell him he needed to move beds for his transfer to high dependency. Michael was far from impressed. I'm now just sitting in the waiting room listening to the grunts of pain as he tries to slide across mattresses :(
